App is crashing when starting a podcast

We've been receiving reports that starting podcasts in the mobile app causes it to crash. This is happening both on Apple and Android devices and it's not specific podcasts.

Hey folks,

We really appreciate your patience while we looked into this issue!

We've received an update that this should be fixed with version 9.0.98.1187, so make sure to keep Spotify updated to the latest version

Let us know if this issue is fixed for you after updating the app and if you're still having any trouble, make sure to post a new thread in the relevant help board here.

Thanks!

When an App or an option is impossible, it may be due to a lack of RAM, which is caused by the programs running in the background.

Close all apps usually with the ||| which is located at the bottom left.

Click on this and click on the close all option.

Hello I’m having trouble with my Spotify app on my Apple TV. When I try playing a podcast or anything it will play for 5 seconds and close the app. AppleTV and Spotify is up to date, still having trouble

Have you checked if there is a problem with Spotify? In the Netherlands this is done via https://allestoringen.nl/storing/spotify/

The Spotify server also often has problems

While the TV is on, unplug (current) it for 15 seconds. If that doesn't work, reset it to factory settings via the menu and then check for updates.
