I have the same issue in my 2021 GMC sierra. I was told by ONSTAR that I would be notified when the issue is resolved and would be compensated. I have really been bombed out about this. Spotify is my favorite music app to listen to in my ride.

I doubt it has anything to do with OnStar, contacting them is not really the right choice as other Media apps work.

2023 Chevy Bolt. I’ve been having this issue since around 11/7/25. Same thing that others reported with music not playing. If I have my Spotify app open on my phone simultaneously and click on a playlist on my cars Spotify app (not CarPlay), my phone will show that music is playing on my vehicle before flashing through album art and song stops playing with the “now playing” showing up blank. After this happens, music from the Spotify app will not start or play on my phone until I restart the app

Same issue as everyone else for same length of time. All troubleshooting attempted.  2019 GMC Sierra Denali.

Same here. 2021 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2. Won't load any playlists. I am running the app Stand-Alone in my vehicle and it doesn't work, nor does it work trying to stream it to my vehicle from my phone. Name underneath the playlist turns green, and that is it. Now I can't even log out of the app. Nothing happens.

Already stated that my 2023 Terrain Denali isn't working but wanted to add that our 2025 Yukon Denali is working fine. 🤔

This is not caused by the Spotify app, the solution is in the manual of the media player in your car. Probably back to factory settings and then update, probably through your iPhone

I removed the car’s Spotify app, (hard) reset the infotainment system to
factory defaults, then reinstalled the Spotify app - to no avail. I believe
others reported having done this, as well.

@Dutch-Elvis No, your suggestions have already been gone over, read up, this is a Spotify issue not vehicle related. No infotainment updates or changes from GM caused this, all other media apps work. Happened at the same time for everyone, same symptoms with vehicles with Infotainment 3 or older, not any of GM's newer systems.

The newer systems work? If this isn't the case, the problem is caused by Spotify. Does the manual state that it's possible to update the player? Then the firmware needs to be updated, my RME DAC gets updates via Mac or Windows, it doesn't work with IOS or ANDROID
