Greater Nevada Credit Union (GNCU) is extending a helping hand to Nevadans affected by the recent government shutdown.

In response to the challenges faced by many government employees, GNCU has launched initiatives to provide immediate financial relief.

Danny DeLaRosa, Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the credit union's commitment: "Greater Nevada Credit Union is committed to supporting the financial well-being of our members and communities, regardless of the circumstances that caused this disruption. Our role is to provide stability and support, helping individuals and families navigate difficult times with confidence. This program is simply one more way we live our mission to help more people Live Greater."

GNCU's Government Shutdown Assistance Loan offers 0% interest for the first six months, with no payments due for 90 days, and loan amounts up to $10,000. Government employees directly impacted by the shutdown can apply by contacting GNCU’s lending hotline, with documentation required to confirm eligibility.

Additionally, GNCU is providing payment deferment options for members with existing loans, provided they can verify the direct impact from the shutdown and their accounts are current or no more than 30 days delinquent.

Members can explore these options by contacting a GNCU team member at (775) 334-8633.

GNCU also collaborates with community partners to offer resources, encouraging those in need to reach out to organizations like the Food Bank of Northern Nevada or Nevada 2-1-1.
