Fatal crash near Las Vegas Strip claims life; driver arrested for DUI and reckless driving

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A fatal vehicle collision occurred on Dec. 6 at approximately 9 p.m. at the intersection of East St. Louis Ave. and South 6th St. just east of the Strip.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-class, traveling eastbound at high speed, failed to stop at a 4-way stop sign and collided with a 2016 Ford Flex.
The Ford, driven by a 46-year-old man, had stopped at the intersection before proceeding.
Officials say the impact redirected both vehicles, with the Mercedes-Benz striking a pole and the Ford hitting a fence before coming to rest.
Medical personnel determined that Ford's driver was beyond resuscitation.
The Mercedes-Benz driver, believed to be impaired, was taken to University Medical Center with moderate injuries and later booked into the Clark County Detention Center on reckless driving and DUI-related charges.
This incident marks the 152nd traffic-related fatality in the department's jurisdiction for 2025. The investigation is ongoing.
