CCSD, CCEA announce agreement for educators to 'donate' sick leave
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Clark County School District and the Clark County Educators Association has reached an agreement for educators to donate sick leave to each other.
Thursday's announcement said the two organizations signed a "memorandum of understanding" to allow the donation of sick leave to other educators within the district.
According to Superintendent Dr. Jesus Jara, the measure covers something not currently covered in the bargaining agreement.
Under the agreement, all licensed professions can donate their sick leave to others who may be facing health issues.
“Our members have expressed the desire to support each other through these unprecedented times,” said Vikki Courtney, CCEA President.
It comes as the state copes with the global COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic as state officials confirm at least one person dead and at least 95 cases.
