LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Nevadans for the Common Good (NCG) hosted a "Rally for the People" on Sunday outside St. James the Apostle Church near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Lake Mead Boulevard.
The event aims to address the ongoing struggles Nevadans face due to costly healthcare and the recent federal government shutdown.
NCG, a non-partisan interfaith group, has gathered over 700 stories from residents affected by rising healthcare costs linked to HR 1.
The rally featured faith leaders, including Bishop Gregory W. Gordon, Rabbi-Cantor Jessica Hutchings, and Rev. Timote Piukala, who called on Nevada's congressional delegation to support healthcare access and the social safety net.
The event sought to unite voices across political lines to demand better governance and policies that prioritize the well-being of all Nevadans.
