Arrest Report: LVMPD officer strangled girlfriend in domestic violence attack

Las Vegas (KSNV) — A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officer is accused of assaulting and strangling his girlfriend, who is also an LVMPD officer, during a prolonged overnight incident inside their southwest valley home, according to an arrest report.
Officer Chandler Pike,29, was arrested and booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Nov. 28. He faces nine domestic violence related charges including three felonies according to court records.
In documents obtained by News 3, Metro Police responded to a home in the southwest family before 11 a.m. after a woman texted 911 claiming Pike “put a gun to his head stating that he will shoot himself in front of her” and that he slapped as well as strangled her.
She asked officers to enter the home through the garage so the doorbell camera would not alert him.
Responding officers located the woman and her two children and moved them to safety before speaking with her. Pike was found upstairs and arrested him.
Police said the woman stated the violence began after an argument while Pike was at home and she was at work on Thanksgiving night. The document said the alerted Pike she may not get off early for the holiday as originally planned and Chandler “did not like that she was going to be home late, since he expected her home early.” According to police there was “back and forth” about it on the phone.
The woman went to her sister’s house and had one drink after her shift ended around 10:45 p.m. and returned home at 12:45 a.m. according to the report. The children were not at the house.
She told police the argument continued, and it became physical when Pike slapped her repeatedly, pulled her hair, ripped off her necklace, kicked and kneed her, pushed her into furniture, and strangled her twice. She said one strangulation caused her to briefly lose consciousness and urinate. The other happened when they were in bed and he “pushed her down by the neck while he was on top of her, into the bed.”
She also accused Pike of putting her in a “body lock” with his legs that she couldn’t escape and stated she was “screaming for help, hoping a neighbor could hear her.” The abuse lasted until 7:30 a.m. when Chandler fell asleep according to police. The woman also fell asleep but woke up when the children were dropped off at the house because she did not wake up in time to pick them up as planned from their father’s house, according to the document.
The victim also told officers that Pike put a handgun to his own head four times during the night, though she said he never pointed the weapon at her. She also stated Pike had been drinking and was intoxicated throughout the incident.
Officers documented redness to her cheeks and abdomen, swelling to her lip, scratches across her chest and neck, bleeding near both ears, and visible red marks around her neck.
Pike has been employed with LVMPD since 2020. He is assigned to the Community Safety Division with Enterprise Area Command. He was placed on suspension of police powers without pay pending a further investigation.
Court records show Pike posted bail. The next scheduled hearing is for December 29
