A man has pleaded guilty to a 22-year-old murder in a Clark County courtroom, but he may not have to serve additional time in prison.

Our Operation Crime and Justice team obtained the plea deal documents.

Henderson police say Ricky Lee Trader, 48, is accused of killing Theresa Romano, 28, back in 2003.

The deal, which was made this month, specifies that the defense and prosecutors agreed to a 10- to 25-year sentence.

He was arrested one year ago this month. At the time of his arrest, Trader was on parole for a separate 2003 murder in Northern Nevada. He killed Robert Wittwer shortly after killing Romano.

He was granted parole in the Wittwer case after 18 years.

The current plea deal states he could serve the two sentences concurrently, meaning they would run out at the same time.

News 3 talked with the Henderson Police Department's cold case unit following the arrest.

"When you do solve the case like this and you get to speak with the family of the victims, they're extremely happy that some closure has come to their mom, dad, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, whoever was murdered," said Joseph Ebert with HPD. "They get some closure, and they don't have to think about it every single day."

Investigators connected Trader to the Romano murder through witness statements and DNA from fingernail clippings.

The sentencing for this case is set for Aug. 20.
