PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R) crews battled a fire in the Centennial neighborhood, where multiple explosions have been reported.

PF&R reported the fire was upgraded to a second alarm and is believed to have been caused by fireworks, according to a resident who spoke with fire crews.

The first arriving crew reported heavy fire and multiple explosions.

Two people reportedly jumped from the second floor to escape the explosions, PF&R said in a social media post.

One patient has been transported to Emanuel Hospital.

Portland Police officers were also at the scene after the fire was extinguished.
