DAYTON, Ohio (WKRC) - Danny Dale Gordon, 48, of Kettering, has admitted to embezzling money from AMVETS, a nonprofit organization that supports veterans, WHIO reported.

Gordon, who served as an AMVETS post commander in Dayton from January 2022 to May 2024, pleaded guilty to wire fraud, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

He is accused of transferring money from the organization’s fundraising and scholarship accounts into its primary account before withdrawing the funds for personal use, WHIO reported.

Prosecutors say the money was spent at casinos, on travel and hotel expenses, and at a Dayton-area gentlemen’s club. Gordon is accused of spending about $622,000 in AMVETS funds.
